Rhayader hosts a variety of events all year round, ranging from Carnival week, Round the lakes races, cycling events, arts exhibitions and many more. However, due to the current restrictions as a result of the Covid pandemic, the events calendar is very limited at this moment in time.

- Welcome to our fantastic weekly craft afternoon sessions. They’re very friendly, relaxed and informal, everyone is welcome so please don’t worry if you’ve not done this kind of thing before; just come along and have a go. Sometimes there will be limited places for the specific tutor-led craft activities, but there’s always something else to do and someone to chat with! Sessions are FREE and suitable for ages 11+
- An illustrated talk on recent survey and excavations in the Elan Valley for the Elan Valley Links Landscape Partnership.
- Fresh off the back of their sell-out ‘Bach in the Park’ concert in Llandrindod Wells’ Rock Park in August, The Red Dragon Ensemble are delighted to be coming to The Lost ARC to perform the sequel gig – ‘Bach in the ARC’! The concert will be the finale of the Rhayader Dragon Festival and include a programme of music by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and a few more – it’ll be the perfect way to spend your Sunday afternoon, the bar will be open throughout, so come, sit back, relax and enjoy! - Our 10 mile running road race is back once again! Join us for our iconic event, taking in a scenic, challenging loop of Elan Valley and the surrounding area, see website for more details.
- Children will delight at meeting the great man himself who will warmly welcome them to his grotto to chat and hear their Christmas wish. They’ll cherish their gift and photo and will be excited to join his team of merry elves to make festive decorations and create reindeer food. And they’ll love tucking into hot chocolate and gingerbread from our cafe. Then it’s off outside to find Elfie, Santa’s naughty helper who has got lost in Cnwch Woods. - Rhayader Young Farmers are holding their Annual Christmas Bingo on Wednesday 11th December 2024 at Pantydwr Village Hall. Doors open at 7pm. Eyes down at 7.30pm. Food hampers and lots of great prizes to be won.
- Father Christmas will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about Christmas and his magical elves! He’ll also bring along some gifts for each child after they tuck into their scrummy breakfast. Afterwards, there’s plenty of time to head out to to the adventure playground or go for a walk. - Annual Walking (or running) Challenge event held across open and challenging upland terrain in and around the Elan and Claerwen Valleys. The route is waymarked in parts but map reading skills are required. Entry fee & kit check apply. Includes some drinks/refreshments and certificates to finishers. - In its 41st year, RTL 2025 brings the 30km and 10km road running races back to the centre of town. Starting and finishing at the Smithfield our routes make use of the stunning Elan Valley especially the challenging and iconic 30km race.
