Rhayader hosts a variety of events all year round, ranging from Carnival week, Round the lakes races, cycling events, arts exhibitions and many more. However, due to the current restrictions as a result of the Covid pandemic, the events calendar is very limited at this moment in time.

Winter Crafternoons

  • Welcome to our fantastic weekly craft afternoon sessions. They’re very friendly, relaxed and informal, everyone is welcome so please don’t worry if you’ve not done this kind of thing before; just come along and have a go. Sometimes there will be limited places for the specific tutor-led craft activities, but there’s always something else to do and someone to chat with! Sessions are FREE and suitable for ages 11+

  • Christmas Coffee Morning in aid of St Clement's Church will be held at the Rhayader Leisure Centre this Saturday 7th December 2024 commencing at 10 am. Llandrindod Wells Silver Band will be present and there will be cake and Christmas Stalls raffle etc so please come along.

Winter Woodland Grotto

  • Children will delight at meeting the great man himself who will warmly welcome them to his grotto to chat and hear their Christmas wish. They’ll cherish their gift and photo and will be excited to join his team of merry elves to make festive decorations and create reindeer food. And they’ll love tucking into hot chocolate and gingerbread from our cafe. Then it’s off outside to find Elfie, Santa’s naughty helper who has got lost in Cnwch Woods.   • Rhayader Young Farmers are holding their Annual Christmas Bingo on Wednesday 11th December 2024 at Pantydwr Village Hall. Doors open at 7pm. Eyes down at 7.30pm. Food hampers and lots of great prizes to be won.

Rhayader Reindeer Run

  • We have a fabulous 5k route suitable for both speedy runners and casual walkers alike, with the added excitement of a reindeer hunt along the way! With almost 30 local business sponsors supporting us, our aim is not only to raise vital funds for The Bracken Trust, but also to support and highlight those fabulous businesses and help them to shine too, this Christmas. Over the coming weeks we'll be spotlighting each business individually - be sure to like and share the posts and get yourselves signed up for the big day itself! Breakfast with Father Christmas
