Rhayader hosts a variety of events all year round, ranging from Carnival week, Round the lakes races, cycling events, arts exhibitions and many more. However, due to the current restrictions as a result of the Covid pandemic, the events calendar is very limited at this moment in time.

  • Jack and the Beanstalk. A traditional Pantomime written by Alison Mead Harvey. Directed by Lee Price and Lawry Thomas. Brought to you by the Rhayader Players January 31st 7.30 February 1st 2.30 and 7.30 (Doors open half an hour before the show starts).
  • A tale of love, adventure and some beans! A gruesome Giant, a Wicked Witch, a fabulous fairy, a brave hero, the obligatory village idiot, a daft Dame and of course, a cute and cuddly cow! The kingdom is in trouble! Giant Igyn and his sister Poison Ivy are blackmailing the royal family by forcing them to pay protection money or else the Giant will gobble them up. Dame Trott, along with her son Jack and Dozy Den are facing eviction. They need the help of you all to come up with a plan. Can this gang save the kingdom from destruction and beat the beastly Giant and Wicked Witch? Can Fairy Beansprout help them out with her dazzlingly smile and magical powers? Come and watch our wonderful pantomime and find out!
